Bolton Metals approached Identity looking to update their existing website with a responsive and modern website. The main aim was to make it a simpler process to discover their range of products and request a quotation. Alongside the website we also designed and created a new logo to suit varying media platforms and applications.
Logo and Branding
As part of the re-brand the first step was to design a logo which complimented the styling of some newly designed media. The outcome was a logo which is modern and subtle yet bold which can be easily adapted to fit a plethora of branding media and applications.
As part and parcel of bringing a website into the modern day and age we designed the website to be responsive. This means that their new website seamlessly adapts itself to the device which it's being viewed from, whether that be a mobile, tablet or any other device.
The old system was clunky and difficult to narrow down and locate the product desired, the aim was to make this process as simple as possible. Products are now easily distinguished via categories which are relevant to their country with all relevant media present on each listing. One of the main new features was to incorporate a searchable index of products to assist users with quickly finding the product they are searching for and thus creating a more pleasant user experience.
We built the website on a content management system enabling the admins to easily update and edit product information with little technical knowledge required.
Having a potentially global customer base meant that it was important that the website was legible to people of any geographical location, thus we implemented google translate into the top bar.
Request a Quote
It's not quick and easy to request a quote for a product, on the click of a button the product information is automatically entered into the quotation form ready for sending. This was an important feature to save customers from having to remember and manually enter lengthy product codes.
Search Engine Optimised
After discussing with Bolton Metals their aims in terms of google rankings, we then went forth and devised an SEO strategy which gave them confidence that their ambitious targets would be achieved.
Content Management System
To enable Bolton Metals to readily make amendments to products and other key information, we built the site on a content management system. The system allows them to make a multitude of changes to products and information with little technical know-how whilst saving on future web fees for updates.
